Coláiste an Spioraid Naoimh soccer teams have participated in the F.A.I. School’s Munster/All- Ireland championships since the early 1970’s and in Cork school’s championships since their inception in 1986. A tradition of playing soccer in a sporting and skillful way is something the school is proud of and various successes over the years have contributed to the good spirit of the school.

Among the achievements are four All-Ireland titles, (Senior 1994, Under-16 1981 & 2001, Under-14 2008) and being All-Ireland runners-up on four occasions. Munster titles and victories in Cork championships have also featured over the years. The under-14 team of 2008, as All-Ireland champions, represented the Republic of Ireland in an international tournament played in Scotland and won the bronze medal.

The first year soccer championship among our own first year classes has been a tradition going back to the 1970’s and is one of the highlights of the sporting year in the school, as is the six-a-side competition for 6th year students (which includes a team made up of staff members) played in the school sports hall. These competitions generate much excitement and help to promote great spirit, a hallmark of Coláiste an Spioraid Naoimh.
