Coláiste an Spioraid Naoimh 50th Anniversary Fun Day

On Friday the 21st of November 2015, Coláiste an Spioraid Naoimh held an activity day as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations.

Although the day was wet, the students’ enthusiasm was not dampened. Activities on the day ranged from novelty quizzes, computer games, table tennis, indoor games, basketball, sumo wrestling, soccer and board games.

The school yard was transformed into a carnival with activities such as bouncy boxing, soccer shot speed test, demolition ball, giant Jenga and bungee races. Music was played throughout the day by students while burgers and crepes were enjoyed by all.

The highlight of the carnival was the strength tester, Mr. Twomey finishing the day with the highest score!

The day concluded with everybody gathered in the yard where prizes for the art and fancy dress competitions were handed out, although teachers were not eligible for the fancy dress competition an honourable mention must go out to Mr. Brett, Ms. Ring, Mr. O’Mahony and, last but not least, Mr. Cooney!

The day really highlighted the camaraderie and respect between all members of the school community.

Thanks to all who made the day such a success and we look forward to many more great years in CSN.

Mr. A. O’Reilly (November 2015)
