60th Anniversary Celebrations
Friday 28th March, Coláiste an Spioraid Naoimh, Bishopstown proudly celebrated its 60th anniversary with a heart-warming ceremony attended by Presentation Brothers, members of the Presentation Brothers Schools Trust, Board of Management, students, staff, alumni, and guests. Since its founding in 1964, the school has a distinguished record of academic achievement and has fostered a wonderful sense of community, involvement and leadership.
Principal Brenda Moriarty said that this day is not only a celebration of 60 years of phenomenal academic achievement, growth, and community, but it is also an opportunity to renew our commitment to the vision that started it all. As we embark on the next 60 years, we will continue to strive for excellence, embrace change, and remain true to the Catholic, Presentation and PBST core values that make Coláiste an Spioraid Naoimh the exceptional school it is today.
The event incorporated a prayer service led by Fr Donal Cotter, Br Martin Kenneally and students. Mr Declan O Connell, past pupil, shared his reflections on his journey as student and member of the Board of Management.
A central part of the occasion was the blessing, official opening and dedication of a new library, Leabharlann Uí Chéilleachair, in honour of past Principal Mr Bertie Kelliher. The library will be a place of knowledge, inspiration and discovery, a symbol of the school’s commitment to fostering a love of reading, learning and the empowering students.
Coláiste an Spioraid Naoimh looks forward to continuing its legacy of success and preparing future generations for years to come.
