Jack Brady, Chris Thomas, and Kieran Sisk-Ravindran placed third out of over three hundred teams composed of more than one thousand students last
weekend in the ISTA Senior Science Quiz final. Their overall knowledge of physics, chemistry, and biology was incredibly impressive. They finish up with 41 points compared to the winners who scored 43 points. Well done lads!

Our U19 travelled to Tralee to take on Tralee CBS on Thursday in a last 16 tie in the Munster Schools Cup.
CSN took the lead from a superb Chris Harrington cross met in the box from this years top scorer Jeffrey Zeph. The went in at half time 1-0 up and very neary 2 up when Dylan McCarthys strike came back off the post late on.
The weather played its part in the second half and the home team drew level from a corner headed home at the back post.
CSN once again took the game to the home team and very nearly took the lead with 10 minutes to go when a Jordan McCarthy strike clipped the outside of the post and went wide. As they pushed for a winner it was another set piece that caught our lads off guard. They conceded from another corner against the run of play. 2-1 down with 5 minutes to go, CSN laid siege on the Tralee goal but to no avail. The home team took the spoils in what was a superb display of football from two extremely talented teams. Unfortunately our U19’s bowed out but they can be very proud of their outstanding performance all across the pitch.
Chaith daltaí na séú bliana maidin thar a bheith spraoiúil le Seán agus Cian ó Highrock Productions. Bhí cómhrá, ceol agus craic ag na daltaí ag an gceardlann gaeilge ‘Caith Amach É’. Ceardlann bunaithe ar an scrúdú béil a bhí ann. Míle buíochas le Seán agus Cian a chuir ceardlann fhuinniúil, ghreannmhar, thaitneamhach, fhiúntach agus phraicticiúl ar fáil dúinn. Ní bréag a rá gur bhain na daltaí agus na múinteoirí an-sult go deo as.
Our First Year students recently took part in a fun and challenging Christmas Table Quiz, using all the knowledge they’ve gained since starting in September. This event was not only a great way to test their learning but also a fantastic opportunity to prepare for the upcoming Christmas exams in a relaxed and engaging atmosphere.

The teamwork displayed by all participants was outstanding, with groups collaborating enthusiastically and earning spot prizes throughout the day. A special congratulations goes to Team Chelski—Adrian Aby, Sean O’Donovan, James Murray Power, and Faiq Hassan from N. Eoin—who secured first place with an impressive performance.

A huge thank you to our Transition Year students who helped with MC’ing, marking rounds, and doling out sweets—it wouldn’t have been possible without them!
On Wednesday 4th December we launched our Annual Christmas Food Appeal on behalf of St Vincent de Paul.

Our students arrived laden with donations of food and Christmas treats for those who might need some help at this time of year. Before too long the floor of the foyer was covered and our TY students were hard at work sorting the food items into boxes.

There was a very festive air in the school as staff and students donned Christmas jumpers and there were quite a few Santas to be seen in some of the classrooms.

Thank you to our very talented Trad Group and singers for performing so beautifully for us.

Our sincere thanks to all of our students and their families for all of the food that has been donated so far. Your generosity is very much appreciated.
The U19 CSN basketball team beat Midleton CBS today 71-40 to earn the title of top team in Cork in their league.  Fionan Nagle gave the team their initial lead, scoring three 3 pointers in the first quarter and finishing with a total of 31 points. Captain Dan O’Keeffe was powerful in the post, adding 24 points to the team total. Joshua Barry kept control of play at the point and created offence from his defence and passing. In the end, however, it was the their tenacious team defence that secured the win. Well done lads. You should all be very proud! 🔴⚫️🏀
TY Horticulture
The polytunnel is a hive of activity. The horticulture students are doing trojan work. We already have a fantastic regular harvest of tasty winter salad leaves including rocket, mizuna and spinach. The cabbages are coming along nicely and our onions , garlic, early carrots and mangetout are all starting to germinate and sprout. We are interested to see how these fair over the cold winter months. The students have also been busy planting bulbs for the Spring. We are hoping to add a splash of colour to the school environment with daffodils, tulips, crocuses, irises and alliums. We also have a raspberry cane and rhubarb so there is lots of variety. The boys are also getting stuck into the tedious tasks of weeding, gathering leaves for compost, picking and bagging salad leaves and general maintenance of the polytunnel and the sandpit. Many hands make light work! Well done lads. Superb effort.
The U19s define what it means to be a team. After a fantastic season with only one loss, they have beaten Cobh in the semi-finals with an impressive 78 to 48 victory. Their tenacious defence, rebounding and finishing have put them into the Cork finals. Well done lads.
