Congratulations to our 2nd year students who represented us at the Munster round of the Matheson Junior Debating National Mace in Coláiste Choilm on Saturday 3rd February.
Team John Duggan and Conall Conroy made it through to the final on the day and brilliantly debated the motion : “This House Would Require All State Broadcasters to Show an Equal Amount of Male and Female Sports on Television“.
Ronan Byrne, Conall Conroy, John Duggan and Micheál Ó Crónnín did the school very proud and achieved outstanding results:
- John Duggan was awarded the prize for “Best Overall Speaker”.
- John, Conall and Micheál qualified to go through to the National Final in UCD in April.
- John and Conall were selected from the Munster region to represent Ireland in the International Competition for Young Debaters in Oxford University in England in April.
