“Mindset Matters” Fundraiser

As part of their “Mindset Matters” programme, last years 2nd Year classes decided to organise a fundraising event and Cork Penny Dinners and Mercy Heroes were the chosen charities.

€2.300 was raised for Cork Penny Dinners by completing a virtual walk from Cork to Kiev and €800 was also raised for Mercy Heroes to support the service offered by health care providers for sick children.

A fitting end to this year’s Mental Health week in CSN were the presentations made to Cork Penny Dinners and Mercy Heroes. The students involved presented the cheques to the charities on Monday 14th November and were delighted to hear how the funds they raised would help so many people.

This fundraiser ties in with the theme of our Mental Health Week which is “Empathy” and throughout the week, students discussed how everyone has a different story and how everyone’s story is important.

Putting yourself into someone else’s shoes always allows you greater understanding and connection with others.

Well done to all of our students for taking part in our Mental Health Week programme.
