Three of our T.Y. students are involved with  Tower Gardens in a Tower Garden study.

The Tower system lets you easily grow your own fresh nutritious food year-round almost anywhere. Requiring less space and less water means Tower Garden is good for you and good for the environment.

Our students will  represent Coláiste an Spioraid Naoimh at the upcoming BT Young Scientist & Technology Virtual Exhibition in January 2022, which will involve over 1000 students from all over Ireland.  The project will be one of the 550 shortlisted projects.

Their study compares the growth and yield of plants grown aeroponically using ‘Tower Garden’ technology to soil grown plants, assess the effect of LED lighting on growth rates and explore sustainable growth mediums.

Photos show their progress from October to November.

Wishing them the very best of luck in January!
