This year we entered a record FIVE mini companies into the Regional Finals of the Cork Schools Enterprise Competition which was held in UCC on Tuesday 12th March.
Supported by the Cork City Local Enterprise Office, this is a very competitive event with over 40 mini companies taking part from across Cork city.
The L.E.O. (Local Enterprise Office) organise these Competitions across Ireland attracting hundreds of companies from students at Junior, Intermediate and Senior levels and it will culminate in the National Finals which this year have moved from Croke Park to Mullingar.
For the second year running, CSN have won Overall First Prize with “Comhar Cards” whose product is a quiz card game about everything Irish. They also won the prize for “Best Sales”. This is quite a unique product from a great mini company team superbly led by Zac Wallace and including Taha Siddique, Ruairi Lynch, Alex Healy, Marcus Conroy and Ahmed Baig.
A fantastic achievement for the boys as it is the first time any school has won back-to-back titles in the events’ history. But what the boys are really looking forward to is the prestigious prize of an all expenses paid trip to Colorado State University, courtesy of Otterbox, which emulates our winning mini-company “Good2Grow” who made the trip last year.
Our teams did so well. They built fantastic displays to showcase their products and received brilliant feedback from the judges. Team “Sea Suds” received the award for “Best Business Plan”
All of the boys have brought great pride to CSN with their creativity, hard work and dedication. Well done to them all and Thank You to their teachers Mr Malone & Mr O’Regan for their support and encouragement.
