Coláiste an Spioraid Naoimh welcomes German students and Teachers

Now in its 25th year, our annual German exchange took place in February. Each year our Transition Year students visit the beautiful city of Cologne and attend school there.

Our students had a fantastic week and some of their excursions included a visit to Cologne Cathedral and they also toured the famous chocolate museum.

Their German exchange partners visited Cork in April. During their stay they attended a reception with the Deputy Lord Mayor of Cork Councillor Derry Canty in the City Hall.

This year for the first time we had a second exchange for 5th Year students. They visited Erlangen in Bavaria for a week and we were privileged to host the German students and their Teachers, Frau Susanne Heyne and Frau Vanessa Dittrich when they visited Cork in May. One of their excursions included joining our 5th Year students on a paintballing and karting trip.

A huge thank you to the parents of our fifth year students Diarmuid O’Halloran, Luke Chin and Callum Morey for hosting and supporting the German students’ language acquisition.
