Our TY students had the opportunity to work with Emmet Kelly of Burning House Productions just before the Easter break.

The students were extremely excited about the chance to work with professional equipment such as dolly tracks, boom microphones, steady cams and monitors to watch their film progressing.

Emmet split the students into groups and got them to come up with a scene. They had to show it to their peers for constructive criticism and then worked together as a full group to come up with a storyline for their film.

The day passed quickly, with roles such as director, sound technicians, cameramen, and boom operators being passed around. As the day drew to a close, the students had scripted, acted in, and directed their very own short film.

The plot was inspired by the times we live in, the danger of social media on young minds and the role we each have to play in making the world a better place. Well done to the boys, and thank you to Emmet & Burning House Productions for another enjoyable workshop.

We are looking forward to the premiere at the TY Graduation ceremony!
